Websites, built by Nick

Sites that make people trust you before they read a word.

I build dark, fast, scroll-driven websites that look like a brand spent real money, then hand them to you on WordPress so you can actually run them. This page is one of them.

Real client sites. Live and running right now.

What I build

Cinematic WordPress sites you can actually run.

Most small-business sites look like a template because they are one. I build the other kind. Dark, fast, full of motion that earns attention, the sort of site that makes a stranger assume you are the real deal.

Then I put it on WordPress and hand you the keys. No monthly page-builder ransom, no agency you have to call every time you want to change a headline. You own it.

I have done this for a decade across my own businesses and clients. Below are three live sites, the same toolkit I would bring to yours.

Client site · Travel consulting

The Next Big Adventure

Jim and Rhonda sell custom trips. Their old site was a tired blog that buried the offer. I rebuilt it around an ocean-palette video hero, a clear services rail, and a three-step path that walks a visitor from dreaming to booking.

A consulting site that finally looks worth paying for, with the offer front and center instead of buried under blog posts.

My own site · Ireland travel

Your Irish Adventure

A full Ireland travel resource I built and run: hundreds of guides, an interactive map of the island, hotel and tour integrations, press logos for proof. Big, fast, and structured so Google and a first-time visitor both find their way around.

Proof I can build at scale, a content site with real traffic and real bookings, not a five-page brochure.

nickwharton.com

My own home page, and the clearest sample of the style: a cinematic video hero, a pinned scroll set-piece where the camera pulls back through a 3D scene, magnetic buttons, count-up stats, a live YouTube feed. Every effect is hand-built, no template under it.

You are looking at the sales pitch. If this page made you want a site this good, that is the whole point.

How it works

Three steps, start to live.

01

Discovery

We get on a call and you show me the current site and the offer. I figure out what is actually costing you customers, then sketch the new structure.

02

Build

I build the real site, not a mockup. You see it on a live link early and tell me what is off in plain English. We loop on the real thing until it lands.

03

Launch

I ship it to your domain on WordPress, walk you through running it, and hand it over. It is yours, no strings, no monthly builder fee.

Why these hit different

What you get that a template can't give you.

Motion with a purpose

Scroll animations, parallax, and reveals that pull people down the page, not gimmicks that slow it to a crawl. Every effect is there to keep someone reading.

You own the whole thing

It ships on WordPress, on hosting you control. No locked page builder, no platform renting your own business back to you. Change anything, anytime.

Fast on a phone

Built mobile-first and tuned so it loads quick on a real phone on real data. Most of your visitors are on one, so that is where it has to win.

Plain English, not jargon

You tell me what you are stuck on in normal words. I build the thing and we sharpen it together. No six-month roadmap, no deck full of buzzwords.

Built on tools you run

I am not an agency with account managers and a markup. You work with the person actually building the site.

Start a project

Tell me about the site you wish you had.

Send me what you are building and where the current site is letting you down. I will tell you straight whether I am the right person for it, and what it would take.

One real reply from me, not a sales funnel.
Questions

The honest answers, before you ask.

It depends on size and how much custom motion you want, so I price per project after the discovery call. You get a flat number up front, not an hourly meter that surprises you later. Send me the brief and I will tell you straight.
It is what I recommend and what these are built on, because it means you own the site outright and can run it without me. If you have a hard reason to use something else, tell me on the call and we will talk it through.
Often yes. The Next Big Adventure above was a rebuild of a tired older site. I will look at what you have and tell you honestly whether a rebuild or a fresh start gets you further.
Yes. Every site I build is mobile-first and tested on a real phone, because that is where most of your visitors are. The motion is tuned down on small screens so it stays fast.
No. You pay for the build, then you own it. You will have normal hosting and domain costs like any site, but nothing goes to me on a subscription. If you want me on retainer for ongoing changes, that is a separate choice, not a requirement.
Send me a message with what you are building and a link to your current site. I read every one myself and reply with whether I am the right fit and what it would take.
